Diesdas Wiki How we think + roll

This is the place where we collect all things Diesdas; our company culture and philosophy, guides for new employees, and any interesting bits and pieces about the team and the company.

We decided to publish this handbook to give everyone a look behind the curtain, so you can see how we roll as an organisation. We hope that you find this useful.

Policies

Time Off & Holidays

  • 30 days vacation per year
  • Extra day off on birthday (if work day)
  • Request and approve via Moco
  • Sick leave: notify via #unavailable Slack channel
  • Doctor's note required for >2 consecutive sick days

Working Hours

  • No fixed hours - set your own schedule
  • Most people: 8-10am start, 5-7pm finish
  • Indicate working times and lunch in calendar
  • 38 hours for 5-day work week

Compensation

  • Fair salaries based on work done
  • No differentiation between disciplines
  • Transparent salary ranges by seniority
  • Paid around 25th of month (employees)
  • Freelancers paid within 5 days of invoice

Professional Development

  • Yearly budget for workshops, training, conferences
  • Bi-weekly 1on1s with lead
  • Yearly Mitarbeitergespräch (MAG)

Office Policies

  • English as primary language
  • Equipment: company MacBook Pro for permanent staff
  • Freelancers bring own computers
  • Friends can visit the office
  • Can host events at the office
  • Confidentiality: clarify with PM what can be shared
